Buying my dream wagon.....

Great! Glad to hear that, I assume the Mrs will be driving the HHR "chase vehicle" back from the pickup and can observe for any irregularities that might occur with the Bonne de Ville?

 

Got the HHR all stocked with 'just in case' stuff - tools, oil, coolant; some tape to temporarily fix the sagging headliner. Marcia and I will be hitting the road around 7:15........

As to the road, yep - pretty much a straight shot on I-5 north to Portland. I'm only about 5 miles east of it in Springfield.

Got a couple of new inspection assignments, one in Albany about 40 miles north, so I'll do some business on the way back as well.

 

I'll do a little 'test drive' around where I pick it up. We'll caravan down to Albany where I have some business, then mama will go home.

 

You know, Marshall...I communicated telepathically with the Bonneville today...and she tells me she wants to stay in Portland...I can help with that...just leave her with me...she'll be in good hands.

Seriously though, I'm glad you're (finally) getting your dream car tomorrow. Lemme know the next time you're up here...I'd love to check out the Bonneville.

She's a beauty! Did you wash her after pickup or did she make it all the way that clean? Everything a-okay?

 

Left the house at 7:15 this AM. Got word from the truck driver that the weather was pretty bad up in Seattle where he was. Finally met up with him at 1:30PM. Come to find out that he drove the wagon down from Seattle - it was not trucked.

It's kinda dirty, which was to be expected. Needs a radio antenna. Climate control works good. Stereo sounds nice, but being an old analog design, it's kind of hit-or-miss on the stations. Some of the electrics don't work (which I already knew) Engine on the freeway seemed somewhat labored. I was going into a pretty bad headwind though.

 

Doesn't show the dirt too much on the outside, but it is dirty. Particularly the driver's carpet area.
