I once offered a Convertible for some “dignitaries” to ride in for a political parade, till I found out they wanted to sit on the seat back on the top bows. I politely backed out. People, especially when they want to use your car for an event normally don’t give a darn about it, as long as it serves their purpose. Then they wanted to tape signs all over it too.... what the hell was I thinking?
Looks like it is still there, but now the pump is enclosed in a small shed, you can still see the 2 storage tanks that are outside of the hut. When I was a Kid it just had a run down 4ft chain link fence abound it with a broken gate on the west side were the rail road tracks were. The Tracks are gone, on street view I see it has a newer chain link fence & my friends house just to the north past the dead end sign has been expanded. I can still remember smelling the heavy oil when playing on the rail road tracks https://www.google.com/maps/place/Durand+St+&+Cronk+Ave,+Saginaw,+MI+48602/@43.4380036,-83.9598965,40m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x8823c258c3706e59:0x56b32752b6359002!8m2!3d43.438161!4d-83.959587
What an example of automotive blight, comparing that ghetto Jag with those Packards Last time I was there, if you didn't have it in a brown paper bag, they could lock you up for it
OK, not the same person I once knew. He was Ken Brethauer; if you run into your friend, ask him if he's met Ken, seen his '36 phaeton. It's pretty likely the answer's yes.
How about the Giant Tire beside I-94 in Allen Park Michigan, originally built as a ferris wheel for the worlds fair. Later converted to a giant advertisement and moved to its current location.
