Yeah, but when we get -50C windchills, you have literally 2 minutes to get into something warmer. Lots of folks with chunks of ear missing. No mercy in this stuff. Worth buying a good one that fits!

Hi Norm, hows the face..er... the renos?:D

I can't compare use with a Manitoba winter but have you thought about a Crappy Tire one?

This exact battery is what I've been using for years in several cars and is what I used in my last Fox Marquis. They have allways outlasted the waranty. IA couple months back I replaced the one in my honeys van, I got almost 8 years out of it.

Can't make out the Group Number. CTC selector is slow. I've had good results with theirs too. I'm pretty sure that the Group 56 or 58 are OK. Andy got a 56 last year or so, and he's happy with it. An Exide. Good price too. I wish Ford had been clearer about OEM sizes and ratings.

They changed the p/n to 10-5672-6 and the CCA is down to 580 from your 600, while the CA isn't shown. I'll have to go check. Price looks low, though.

If the stock hold-down can work with a steep angle, I could get a 1000 CCA 58 from Kal-Tire's Diehard line (Same as the old Sears Diehard line). More plate area by 20%.

You know how us brass monkeys are here in the Winter. :rofl2::evilsmile:

Gawd! That's Fugly! We've been spoiled so far this year...:taz:

Well, I nailed it down. Andy's right. Its a Group 56 battery. Here's a Pic:

That's a MotorCraft battery p/n BXL 56A. The better one is a BXT 56A. Now I can check sizes, and specs. Whew! :slap:

The car its in is a 1979 to 1982 Fox Mustang, same as the early Fox sedans and wagons.

It will work for non-EFI cars to 1986, but one brave soul used a bigger hammer and modded his for the bigger 1987 Mustang EFI battery:

Wal Mart's warranty policy is better than the others as the pro rated basis is the price you paid, not some inflated retail figure.
These, and Auto Zone's have served me well. Interstates have let me down several times and their warranty is worthless after 2 years due to their pro rating against full retail price.
This may help you if a 58r proves tough to find
