Oh ! We are normally over there at one of the hospitals or zillion doctors thru the week. Rarely see many wagons in the Gainesville area. Seem to be quit a few around Chiefland. Many are pretty ratty and worn out .
Probably need new %$#@$% Ball joints!;)

I blasted it with PB Blaster last night and this morning. I'll have a beer (or two) and give it some whacks tonight (no jokes please). If that doesn't work I'll try some of the other methods suggested in this thread. The other one came out so easily.

It's not supposed to be easy. Then everyone would have an old car or wagon. That's why one fitting is always stubborn.
Also if it were easy there wouldn't be as much beer sold. It's a plot between the auto makers and the brewerys. :drink:

They ought to package the necessary 'tools' together as a "Ball-Joint Removal kit" - beer and a BFH......... :rofl2:

The suggestion I gave has worked time and time again (probably on 100 minitrucks) the key is hitting the spindle the ball joint goes through on the side, the swedge fit on the top of the ball joint will eventually release, this also keeps you from mangling the ball joint getting it out.

I'm a little late on the thread but I usually go borrow a ball joint press tool from the local Autoparts store. You're going to need it to install the new ones anyways. Then hit it with an impact gun and/or breaker bar.
That's for the Fairmont of course. I don't even bother with the Caprice, just send to some guy with bigger tools.
