I happened to catch the movie ET the other night on HBO or Showtime and thought of Norm and all you Fox lovers out there. You might recall all the "g-men" drove Fairmont and Futura 4 drs and there were even one or two wagons in there. Remember that chase scene through that new development? Pretty neat and the bikes won!!

Funny, I was going to buy it for my wife. She loves the story. But we were in a rush so I left it. Next time. Thanks for the reminder.

In line with the talk of the turbo 4's from the mid-80's T-Birds, what about using the supercharged 3.8 V6 from the '89 - '94 (or thereabouts) Thunderbird SC?

Very intersting, the seats look like a dead ringer for sure. I have never looked at one close..I always thought they looked ugly:D. But if it IS Fox based the possibilitys could be endless. Could it have a 5 bolt pattern and would spindles etc swap over? That would be cool. Now we need some one to get one who has a Fox wagon so we'll know the real scoop

I know the Fairmont guys try to scoop the Lincoln Versaille front and rear discs, also a Fox body. Basically a dolled-up Granada from the same era. The seats would fit stock in a 1982 and up, but the earlier ones have to use the older seat brackets due to the in-floor crossbrace shape. The spacing is 12" across, vs 14" across for the 1982 and up Fox bodies. The nice thing is that the old bracket/slides fit right into the seat frame. Don't know about the Power Seat motors and mounts though. I'd guess the relays and harness would be OK, but the physical underseat motors might be affected.

The wagon brake drums are larger than the sedan/coupe Fox cars, so discs don't add much braking power on the rear. Maybe with a larger Proportioning valve at the master cylinder.
