Maybe one of the MOPAR and Ford guys here could make such a list for their own brand :162:

    Back on topic:
wondering why only the Oldsmobile figures from 73 and up were divided in woodgrain and non woodgrain: I never read anything like that for Chevrolet Pontiac or Buick

(Still: with a little bit of math you can, more or less, forecast the figures for the other brands.)

I have wondered as well. I do not know why they split up the #s for the woodgrain vs. non-woodgrain models on the 73-76 Olds wagons. I wish they had that data for the others as well.

It would be nice to have access and lots of time to do some research in the GM archives. That would tell you a lot of thinsg about our loved wagons..

    Cheers Dyna
PS: Anybody tried to get that kind of access?? I mean if you write a book they usually give you access..

For Buicks the Sloan museum might have the answer. I never attempted to for they charge you a small amount of money for investigation. Up till now I rather saved my money for parts (and even worse: for shipping  )

I didn't mean like that but rather like if you go over there and dig for a month or two. Getting them to research anything will be very very expensive in the long run..

    Cheers Dyna

PS: Yep shipping is not fun. Try to always go USPS.. Ah one thing you don't have VAT on old cars (as in import from the US) in the Netherlands? I remember being told that or am I out flying..

Yes, you're more or less right. On newer cars we import here we have to pay a tax (only in The Netherlands; against all EU laws...) But the percentage you'll have to pay decreases with the older age of the car; after the age of 25 years it is 0%. Still you have to pay import tax (6% I believe it was) on the sales price stated on the Bill of Sale..... Officially I paid $1000 for my Buick :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

Yeah, there used to be a website ( defunct now ) that focused on the 1972 Buick Electra 4dr models. It had a page on it where it showed a list of options and how many of each had that option. It was really neat for the owner of 72' 4dr Electras (which I was @ the time).

Mine had a rare "gearshift wiper control" option. :) I miss that car.

I would like to see the same data for a 72 Estate Wagon.

Clam Shell wagons are among my favorite vintage. It's really to bad that you don't see any of them here in the Lower Mainland where I live in BC.

I wonder if they used a different kind of metal, or not enough undercoating on them, and they have rotted away? It's about the only think I can think of.
