    I think $10K buys it

If I grew up in with a Country Sedan just like this and really, really, REALLY wanted another one exactly the same, I might consider paying $10k for it.

Otherwise it would bug me that the flipper is going to make a $3-4k profit in less than a month!

Boy, does this one bring back memories. My father had one just like it except darker blue. I haven't seen that pegboard headliner since I was six or seven years old laying in the way back looking up at it. I used to love driving around with may father in that car. When you're a little kid, you don't notice that the car is seriously underpowered. I think we drove ours to the top of mount Washington in NH once - as I remember it, she got hot but she made it.

To top it off, the three on the tree transmission is my all-time favorite. When I first looked at the photos and saw the clutch, I fell in love. I had a '62 Oldsmobile with a 3-on-the-tree and just loved the feel of flopping it from 2nd to 3 rd -she'd just fall into place - no other transmission can match that feel.

Most people probably wouldn't even know how to drive one of these nowadays.

Anyway, I'm going to keep my eye on this one. I know Hadley MA well and will be passing thru it on my trip north in a couple of weeks. Surely my roadmaster would have no trouble pulling it back to FL - it probably weighs aroound 2000 lbs by the looks of it.

I bet it gets great gas mileage with that little engine - might be just right for cruising around the flat roads of Florida. I just wish it were a little cheaper, even the current price would be difficult. If it goes much higher, it's off-limits. This is really my dream wagon. It would look great in front of my 1963 house, and fit perfectly in my little attached one car garage. The house is retro and a retro car would look great parked outside.

Time to play a few lottery tickets!

Didn't realize the eBay auction was over. Forgot to look at the dates. I guess that means the 10k + on Hemings . I'm out.

So I'm not the only one! I used to lay back looking up at one of those headliners on my parent's 12 hour+ road trips. Later, when I owned the car, I slept in it overnight when I was in school. But that's another story! :29:

Yeah, that's a good strategy..... car doesn't sell so we'll raise the price.

I'll be driving thru Hadley in a couple of weeks, and I do love that car. I wonder if I should take $5,000 in 100 dollar bills and se what he does? Maybe he needs money for Xmas?

Does everyone here agree that it's worth 5K. That's all I could possibly afford.

If so, I make take a stab at it.

The current seller bought it from a guy who owned it 12 years - the previous owner had an ad on Craig's List with a selling price of $7k.

So my guess is that the current seller bought it for $6-7k. And is trying to make a profit on the car ... :(
