I have removed this wagon from the classifieds. I have a person coming in from out of town to look at it this weekend and have decided that if he doesn't buy it, I am going to hang on to it for a while longer. It is too nice of a car and I like it too much to let it go for the price I was advertising. This is where capitalist meets station wagon lover, I suppose. After seeing the other wagons and pricing that were almost comparable, I started getting seller's remorse. I drove it some this week and am about halfway through detailing it again today. It is just a great ride plus my girlfriend acted sad when I told her it would most likely be sold this weekend. She doesn't seem to think the fox's Bobcat will be as comfortable, though she absolutely loves riding in the 64.

I want to thank everyone again for their help and guidance in helping me decide to buy it and all of the follow on information and interest.

I will continually be on alert for other Roadmasters and now Caprice wagons based on what I have learned here.

The car will remain on my dealer inventory and is formally for sale; just not advertised on the internet at this time.

Well I must withdraw my membership from the Roadmaster Wagon club. As anticipated it sold today.
The 20 year mechanic had done his homework and knew what he was seeing.
He left behind a LeSabre and an envelope with cash.
I do hope to find another as nice someday.
Thanks again to everyone for the advice and education.

Sharp looking wagon. There are a couple of ways to solve the trim issues. I polished mine and others have painted theirs. The trim itself is aluminum. If you us e "Aircraft Stripper" and some muscle the "wood" will come off. I then take it to a buffing wheel and clean it up. I did a post on this on another forum.

I have some of the beltline trim (which is stainless) if you need it let me know. I use sign vinyl cut into strips and replaced all of the rubber. It is just easier to deal with and gives the car a different look.

Then add a set of wheels and you are on your way.

Thanks. I will keep it in mind on my next Roadmaster. Do you know someone stole your hood ornament?

This one looks almost identical to my '94. Nice find!

I had the same problem with my windows when I got it. A little bit of digging and I found that the 12V wire feeding the lock/unlock switch had rubbed where the wiring exits the body and enters the door panel and was cut. It took a while to find but only a few mins with a soldering iron to fix.

Edit: I also just finished reading and saw that the car was sold. I've gotta start reply AFTER I finish the whole thread.

Wish I had watched and saw your request

I have had a 94-95-96. All perfection. Not one single issue with any of them. I currently have a 96 Collectors Edition which is the same as the 95 with a different grille ornament. The 94-96 are the ONLY ones to own. The 95-96 are the better of the two because they enlarged the side mirrors and took them off the doors for the previous years. I had 145k on my 95 when I found my 95 with 40k miles sold them both for the 30k mile 96 I have now. I had 160k miles on the 95 and not once did I ever take either of them into the shop. No even for a battery. Only thing I replaced was the fluids, the brake pads and shoes and that is it. So, if you get one that is well maintained you can find them like new. The one you were looking at has the rare seating, which is a very pretty seat option. I didn't need or have any body work done nor any dents, dings or accidents. They all have been fantastic cars. A few people have mentioned the transmissions but not once have I even known the car had one. Only because from the day I bought them I used full synthetic fluids and follow the Mercedes rule of when to change the oil and transmission fluids. 100k for the transmissions and 12-15k for the oil. I also flush the brake system and the power steering systems and have synthetic fluids put in them as well. I got over 100k before I even had to change my brakes. So, if you can find one that is well maintained they can go for as much as 6-7k and then down from there. Good luck

I should have kept it, but it did go to someone who loves it. The new owner sent me this picture yesterday.
