I got out in the shed today, still to hot really to do much but got a bit done.
I put a guide coat on the drivers door the other day & rubbed that back, had two small high spots to sort which is pretty good considering how much work that has gone into this door. So today sorted those high spots, couple of taps then blew a couple of coats of primer on. Blocked that back & she was sweet, i sanded up the top section of the door as well. Couple of coats of primer then sanded that back & blew some black over that, left it for a couple of hours then rubbed it back & shot it with a final coat. Came up good to, hard to show the gloss in the pics, so i'll leave that to dry for a few days then blow the top coat on the door. The Gunmetal Grey lower section for the 2 tone will be done down the track a bit - well time for a well earned cold beer me thinks, that shed was like an oven:D

Haven't got much done this week, got some more supplies so i'm good to go which is a bonus. Probably get something done this arvo, will get the top coat on the outside door sometime very soon then be panel after panel till she's done.
Got a good score yesterday, a guy had put 4 litre's of medium silver on the auction site i use over here. Was $20 start but not the reserve & $80 buy now so i waited till near the end & banged a $50 bid on which as i thought hit the reserve so i'm rapt on that, $200 worth of paint so a good bargain there. Will darken it up with some black to get the colour i want, hope to pick that up over the weekend but no rush on that as i'll do the 2 tone with all panels on the car as any silver/gunmetal is a witch if you do it panel by panel. Well i'll update this some more when i get some paint on(y)

Just blew two coats on, will leave that to shrink back for a couple of days then rub it back with some 800 then blow another coat over it. My old mans an old schools painter & he's given me plenty of tips over the years so even though this isn't base coat i will be putting two or three clear coats over it.........

What a great project. I'm partial to Holdens since I own a fine example of one (Pontiac GTO). I'd love to get my hands on a sportwagon. Anyway, keep the updates coming. They are great to see.

    This is sooooo cool!

Did you know that in europe your car would be a Opel rekord, commondore? Or a Vauxhall in UK..

Great job, always nice to see a good craftsman doing his thing!
