This is a really nice car.
BUT, I would Never buy a car from a seller on Ebay that has the
auction as a " Private listing" I mean actual bidders' identities have not
been revealed by Ebay in Years. Each bidder is given a # not user name.
So, what's he hiding.... :naughty: Just sayin'...

A stunning car for sure. Funny, though, that for all its high-option-ness, it does not have rear window defogger, power seats, speed sentinel, or trip odometer. It also has only the base AM radio.

No matter, though. My heart flutters just looking at it.

There was one just like this for sale on ebay back in October 2012. It was in Oregon. I kept some photos of it (as I will certainly do with the current one.)

Boy she's pretty. Since she's been gone I've really been missing my old wagon. I would check on the MJC website from time to time but she never turned up. I was surprised to see her again when JWDtenn posted that link. I was a little disappointed however that she was repainted over that factory original Cranberry but I also understand why. I can however honestly say this wagon is the best driving old car I've ever had. Smooth and effortless in every way and even my wife enjoyed driving her. The kids enjoyed her too and that makes it all that much better. As for my sale of this wagon to the dealer, I found him to be very easy to work with, he followed-through with everything he said and was very upstanding with me. I have no qualms at all.

As for the dealers sale amount, I'm just guessing on this but when factoring in shipping from DE to FL, the A/C repair, repaint and detail, I'm betting a break even amount on this wagon might be in the $13K range. That other '73 CC with the Buick wheels that Jaunty posted sold for $14K ish (IIRC) than resold a year or two later for a bit less. I actually used the sale history of that wagon to price mine, than applied to discount to ensure a quick sale.

Anyways, while going through the eBay ad, the seller states something like stunning condition, no surprises.... From a driving perspective, this is something I can attest to. Cosmetically she was nice when I had her and now she's even better. The worst thing about the car that I remember is a squeak from the drivers seat and a slight pull on the drivers side rear bumper where the jack would attach. That's about it.

Both cars are Super-nice! I do like the wheels on the 2012 car better.
Since Oldsmobile didn't make a Rally Wheel for that car, the Olds Center
Caps with the Buick Rallies Look Quite nice.

It's got quite a long ways to go if this dealer paid $9500 and repainted it. :yup:

Not only $9,500 plus a refinish; They had it shipped too and have listed it on eBay.

Current owner paid $9500 and that was before repaint. Now at $10,200. He'd lose a lot to sell at that price. Let's see how this auction plays out.

He paid $9500, and he now hopes to turn it around and sell it for MORE than that? What determines value is the market, not what's been done to the car in the immediate past. If he paid $9500 and then spent $3000 on a paint job, the car is not suddenly a $12,500 car. Almost ten grand was a pretty strong price to begin with, and no amount of fixing up is going to raise its value much beyond that. He can hope all day long that he'll recover his expenses and then make a profit of some kind on top of that, but he might need a very long day.
