Isn't that the same price it was at? Honestly surprised that nobody bought it. Uber rare.

Coupes are so much easier to find though. I search Montego listings constantly, and see 72-76 coupes (and 4 doors) frequently. But 72-76 Montego wagons are super hard to find. Not saying the demand is there though. Obviously, it isn't. This one has been out there since October of last year.

Despite heavily faded paint and wood-grain, it looks like a solid car and as mentioned, quite rare. You really do not see many of these anymore.

Those are the Ford deluxe wheel covers. They were used on Mercurys as well as Fords, but there was also a Mercury-only variant with black centers and the Lincoln-Mercury "star":

Generally, I like anything that helps differentiate Mercury from its Ford counterpart. I don't think FoMoCo did that consistently enough.

The Montego doesn't look like a rust bucket. It might actually be worth something close to the asking price.

And if these pictures are still current, he still has the 68-69 Cyclone. Man, I so want to visit this guy's yard.

I think I know this guy....I bought a bunch of trim, etc. radios and such for my old Mercs from a dude named Alex in San Diego; said he had a bunch of old Cougars, Fairlanes, etc. If it's him, he's been advertising in Hemmings for 20 plus years.

I spoke to this guy (if its him) and he was really down to earth - not a strange ranger like some other sellers. Really enjoyed talking about 60's FoMoCo stuff. Got me the obscure trim I needed and shipped fast and well represented. The last thing I got from him was in about 2008 - a 69 Merc AM/FM radio (69 and 70 only).

BTW, the wagon that some thought was a '64 Pontiac looks like a 65 Merc Commuter to me......

Pictures are on the ad now. Not sure if they're the original pics, or if he's added new ones. If new, he still has the Torino wagon, '68-69 Cyclone, etc.
