I contacted this seller yesterday. He was accommodating and sent several photos that I had requested. After looking at these, I called back and made an offer. He said "maybe" and that he was busy but would call me right back.

Several hours later there was no return call, so I called him again. His response was that his daughter believes anyone from out-of-state to be a scammer, but he wants to sell the car so he would talk with her more and call me today. I live in NH.

Well, there was no call today. At this point, I'm no longer interested in playing games over this car. I'm going to continue looking.

    Hi Clamshell cruiser,

No need to back off. Please proceed. I was only relating my personal experience with this seller. I'm going to try to find a different car closer to home.

Incredible, not sold after all this time. There must be a reason. I brought this up to my wife today, because I've been looking for a wagon for a dog's age, preferably a Buick Sport wagon (first preference) or an Olds Vista cruiser. I love the roof windows, they are just too cool. I'd settle for this beast, even though if I had to go full size my preference would be a '69 or '70 Chevy, based on the price alone. I'm about 90 miles from this car, an "easy" drive, on the 405 FWY.

Go take a look. There was a little too much rust on the car. It needs work to get back on the road. Have fun.

    Where's the rust?

And what the heck is connected to the lower instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel?!

We've covered that before - it's an 'antique' trailer brake controller.

Cool, well done and great to hear from you. Do you have any other good pics or info that has not been discussed? Also if you have any luck with the clamshell rubber, be sure to let us know as well.

    Cheers Mike.

It took me a little while to work out, but when you post, look for the manage attachments box and upload one pic at a time, up to 5 per post. For best effect, click on the pic after it has been uploaded and open it up in your browser and then copy and paste it onto your post. Make sure you leave the thumb nails still attached though.

    Cheers Mike.

    There you go! [IMG]
The rust on the lower quarter panel should be an easy fix, but how bad is that patch of rust over the wheel arch? Other than that it seems to be pretty straight. Why is the glass covered with plastic? Are you planning to redo the wood as well?
