Progress moving along well. Found a complete suspension kit from

www.p-s-t.com Impressed with the kit, have had to sort out a few odd bushings and mix and match a bit but glad to find a company that offers kits for this year wagon.

Using a 4 wheel disc brake kit from www.mpbrakes.com Kit is very complete. Haven't completly finished assembly yet, but for a build like this that incorporates so many different components I am pleased with the way things have come together.

The 9 inch rearend is in great shape running a 3.25 ratio, no need to change with the engine tranny combo, we will clean up and paint and add disc brakes..

Moving along on the old wagon. Body work going well... Amazing that the only place I found bondo was in the front fenders on the entire car! Rear gate in pretty rough shape just from sitting with no rear window gasket. Found lots of little rust holes while sanding. It's rusting from the inside out. So have cut and welded a large section out around the inner structure to get rid of the rust.

Thank you guys, plugging along... Finally getting some color on the car! Engine, tranny, suspension, brakes sorted. Now on to the interior and all the 8 million window gaskets, door seals etc...Gonna need help from you guys!

Oh ya another quick question, Will a 67 Galaxie dash cover fit this Country Sedan?

    Cheers, Adam

    Adam.

The dash and any component of the dash is the same as the 1967 Galaxie.

Basically, the Galaxie and any of the Country wagons are mostly the same from the rear doors forward.

One difference is that the Country Squire and the LTD in 1967 had a die cast 3 piece grill and the other galaxie models including the country sedan had a one piece stamped aluminum grill.

Another note: The 1967 Model year is a one off year for many parts including the door handles. No other year fits and the front and rear door handles are not the same.

Sorry for the rant...just things I figured out over the last 3 years...lol

    Hi Dr B,

Great info! Was just checking out early posts of your resto project, and looking at all the links from Stormin Norman... Lots of good help!

Although a lot of the car has been upgraded and sort of hidden, I would like to keep alot of the interior looking stockish with some modern flare.

Thank you so much for your input on this project!

    Cheers, Adam

Great looking rebuild! Questions: Was that a local Bama wagon?(I think I saw an old Bama tag on it?). Maybe I missed it in the posts, any upgrades planned to the 289 for more power for that big wagon?

We added a few modest upgrades to the engine :yup:... Crank, rods, pistons, heads, roller rockers, comp cam, and using a Mass Flo fuel injection system. The fuel system even has an inertia switch in case of the unfortunate event of an accident.

It is a Bama car as the owner lives in Auburn...
