My friend's Dad had a '63 4dr Monterrey with the angled rear window that you could put down. I always thought that was so cool. He took it to his gas station in '65 to get some work done to it and when he came back to pick it up that afternoon, he found his car on it's side after having fallen off the lift. That was not a good thing!
it was totalled, so he bought a '65 yellow and black 2dr Comet Caliente. That was a nice car as well. The '63 pictured below even has the same color combo.

Your Friends Dad and I would have got along well. I had almost this exact car but in a butterscotch color. The infamous "Breezeway" window. To cool when you want to impress your freinds !!

    Thanks for sharing.

Check this out. Hmmmm, my NHRA wagon maybe ?

So I still have not heard back from the NHRA, but a mercury club memeber said he thought he read about the 8-10 wagons they made with a 4 speed in 1963. I did some digging on the internet and found this. I need to find this magazine... check the bottom picture..... could my wagon have been in this photo ?????

Yeah, I saw that listing. I would be very interested in that Buick - if I had the money. Ideally, when I look for my next wagon, I want something that's mostly done. This Caballero is a little short of that, but for one of these I'm going to have to make some concessions.

I write for a number of magazines, including Musclecar Enthusiast, and would love to talk to you about your wagon (I have a '69 Colony Park myself). Could you contact me direct? Send me your phone number. I am friends with Kevin Marti and while I don't think his service goes back to 1963, I bet he will have some insight on your car.

While I personally have no idea of what your car is worth, based on similar low production, big-block station wagons in restored/original condition, I would say it's going to be in the $25,000-$40,000 range. I did a column in Musclecar Enthusiast a few years back on a non-numbers-matching, high option 1969 Chevy Caprice 454 wagon owned then sold by ex-Motor Trend Editor C. Van Tune and it sold for $36,000. It was flawless except for the non-date-coded 454. The original 454 must to have been replaced at some point.

If the car is in presentable condition, it certainly could be a feature car for Cars & Parts (another magazine I contribute to) or possibly Musclecar Enthusiast.

    Hope this helps,
