It's a LeMans, I'd go for it if it was a GTO.

 

I'm sorry, but I just can't associate ape hangers, banana seat and sissy bar with a GTO. Well, maybe the sissy bar....

 

I was thinking the seller was asking Schwinn Stingray prices for what amounts to a knock-off.
I was wrong....... Here's a listing for a comparable 'real' Schwinn Stingray.

I can see the Stingray's price for the fact of its restoration, but I would not pay that price for something unrestored.

 

The true Schwinn musclebikes were the Krates.

The Orange Krate was a lot like that '69 GTO Judge sissy car.

 

Remember, the Krates were Stingray sub-models. I had a Lemon Peeler, which was almost exactly the same as my friend's green Stingray, a hand-me-down from his older brother.
