WOW! glad I asked. That just goes to show me that no matter how dumb I think the question might be I should probably still ask. Thanks, Tedy. We should have a thread about situations just like that for those who are just like me... Blow outs, ice,red ball bouncing into the street, ect...

I like reading about other guys that flog their cars once in a while,.

I,ve had my blue 95 wagon up to 139mph, when it had its stock motor and 2:56's but it was down hill slightly, car was rock solid no worries,.

The black wagon with 3:73's and the crate motor hit 140+ but i had to shut it down because the bird dog started barking,.i,m sure it would have sen at least another 5-10mph,
Both wagons have better than stock suspension,.
The blue wagon now has a 12.2cr 847 cammed lt4 headed 383 motor, 4:88,s and a t56, i,ve a few small issues to take care of then i,m curious to see how it will do, i did buy a carbon fiber driveshaft as i,m concerned about driveshaft speed with 4:88.s
My 95 9c1 with 3.08,s would barely pull 140 ,.when i put the 3:73,s in it, it did 159,.

    I tune my own ecm's, stock speed limiter on a wagon is 107 mph,.on a 9c1 its 130.IIRC

lots of room where i live,.:)

I had a tire go down(rapid) not sure you'd call it a bow out, but it happened while I was passing a LARGE truck! Scarey!!! However, I'm here to tell the story. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

No matter how bad the accident, if we can still remember and tell the story that's all that matters. Anytime we drive over 55 MPH we are taking a chance. Anything over 100MPH and anything could have happened. Personally I would never ever----well except for those few times!:yahoo:
If you don't speed at least once how will you know you are skeered of speed?

Xavier I'm sure you've heard it said many a time, there is no such thing as a dumb question!:bouncy:Personally I think whoever said that was stupid!
As for making a panic stop on ice when a red ball rolls in front of your Kia causing a tire to blow out............. quickly stick your head between your legs and kiss------:rofl2:goodbye!

I've never gone more than 127mph in anything, and that was a '98 CVPI I had as a taxi. I will say there is a 104mph limiter in 95+ Luminas with the 3100 engine. There is also a 104mph limiter in my wife's Durango. I am not sure where the limiter is in the 2011 Town & Country I'm currently renting, but it's not 104. Or 105 or 106. But I'm sure it's there somewhere. Had an idiot in a Mitsu Endeavor around Tulsa try to run me off the road then brake check me and I decided he needed to be a speck in the rearview mirror.

There seems to be a 70 mph limiter in all of my vehicles these days, lol! This includes my 92 Honda CBR600F2 which the mags said could do 145 back in the day. :D

    168?

I cannot find the original pic or the video I made with it, but here is a frame i made for a forum that "used to be". It was a great GM Forum called..... GMForums. I was quite active, I had a '96 9C1.

I sold it long ago, and kept my '96 SS, which I never drove as fast as the cop car. With 383 3.73 etc etc etc, it is surely faster than the 9C1 I had, but I notice as I get older I drive slower. Heck, I don't even drive it any more. Only about 10k miles in the last 8 or 9 years since I did all the work.

At about 3:20 I do a high speed pass in this video well over 140. Since the Impala is analog, and I was goin' "so fast" I mostly kept my eyes on the road, but I did see it pass 140. Odd it looks kinda slow in the video, but then I suppose that is due to the angles, distances etc.
