Small update. I went back and had ARP rod bolts installed on the rods. Time to start assembling the bottom end of the motor.
Were the blinkers fast blinking before you made your repairs?
Looking good! If you have a fast turn signal, make sure all the bulbs are working correctly. If one is burned out or not making a good connection...

My 78 Ford Country Squire came with a 460 that produced 205 Hp. I think 290 will move your Bel Air nicely.
