Haha. I never seen ANYTHING in Israel!! Henry ford did get that medal, I think it was from Hitler himself but it was not for hating Jewish people. It was for his work in the auto industry, which hitler, like all of us here took interest in. He did have some contempt for the crafty Jewish business man and tax collector but to say he shared the same views as hitler is, like I said a bit extreme. This is from the New York Times - “My acceptance of a medal from the German people does not, as some people seem to think, involve any sympathy on my part with Nazism. Those who have known me for many years realize that anything that breeds hate is repulsive to me."- I'll say no more as my knowledge on the subject is limited and this is borderline politics which has no place here!
Of course, Ford's degree of contempt must have varied from Hitlers. I have never read Ford's book. Nevertheless, I never heard of Ford supporting a Final Solution or even extermination to a lesser degree. Could be that he did. But, maybe just kept it for his self? In any event, the National Socialists marveled at assembly line production.
You wanna stuff a Coyote in that? By its looks, I think it's too narrow. But another cool project would be an SVO 2.3L turbo, and I'm reasonably sure it'll fit.
If so, I'll just have to chop the vehicle vertically or set it onto a full frame: Either, the front wheels have to stick out a bit or we'll widen the entire vehicle to suit: A 2 Liter Austin Rover 4-banger would be a much simpler alternative. I had one of these in my Maestro MG. It was oversquare, meaning that more than plenty of low end torque was available. Steep inclines on mountainous roads were no problem. Even, without a turbocharger of which some of these were factory equipped. I once drove one of the latter and found it to suffer substantial turbo-lag. I beat BMW 3 series 6's off the line with mine. Had a ballsy exhaust sound, on top of that. If I'd only had a place to store it, I would still have this car today and have licensed it as a historical vehicle: The block later got a dual overhead cam 16-valve head. These designs increase mid-to highend horsepower. But, at the cost of low-end torque:
To chop the thing for Cayote fitting, you'd have to do something like this. Before and after: ] Widened it for yous: kostenlose bilder
I'd have to cut a sunroof, so that anyone in there could have head clearance. Would you really chop the top?
Haha, I wouldn't do anything to that car because I wouldn't own one but as long as you feeling choppy. I saw a beetle with the roof lowered this weekend is what made me think about it. Looked less like love and peace and more like drugs and grease. Also seen an old bus from like the 50's that had the entire roof lowered. It was done up like a rat rod prison bus. If yer chopping and swapping all the class had gone out the window and it becomes a matter of preference. Here is a tasteful example if I don't say so myself
I've seen a few of those over the years. My preferred one was getting built by a high school buddy of my big brother, he was chopping his dad's '58 or '59 Ford F100 Flareside. I have not seen it completed, but I knew what it would look like when finished, and it actually would've allowed all 6'6" of me to drive it.
Precisely!! My kids are only 2 and 3 but I still cringe thinking about letting them borrow one of my autos. I have a 2007 Silverado and I would flip my lid if one of my rug rats "customized" to that effect
