Just took it for a run around the block. Gauges all look good now. Sorry for the glare and my cell phone camera. Ha!

    Loving the mod...finally!

I just noticed in the picture below. Did you snap that while going 80? :character0182:

    I sure hope not!

New gauges look nice. Just remember, you're not driving a Camaro!

Speed limit is 75 here so 80 is cruise control speed. Took that with my cell on a recent trip....just cruising down the highway.

Here's a couple of evening pics with the headlights on. You can tell the cluster (with the exception of the PRNDL) lights up white, while the rest of the dash is green. I've leaving it as-is for now....I'm used to it now.

I love this mod. It's really a big improvement.

Oh and on the Impala site a member posted this pic with the wood face like Bill Crovo has. Sharp too!

Great job! Your instrument cluster looks awesome!! Thanks for posting all your efforts to get the "bugs" worked out - I am working on a similar project and your posts have been very helpful. Do you have a light that lights up when your tailgate is ajar?
    Thanks - Robert

No gate ajar light. Lost that, along with Low Fuel (but Check Gauges comes on if the fuel gets too low), and change oil light is also gone.

I'm going to crack into the cluster one more time to see if the odometer can line up better with the opening. The trip odometer is perfect but the actual odometer is about one click off I think. I'm also getting just a little light bleed-through where the ASR light was in the round hole under the speedometer. Planning to block that with something.

The good thing about these cars is you are never done. That's half the fun!

I just want to give a :thumbs2: and a :tiphat: to Mike for his 'modability'.

He does things to his vehicles that I can only dream about. And all his mods look like the factory did it. Great sense of style, too.....

Thanks Krash! Keeping it looking as factory as possible is half the joke! Take care!

    Tach Signal

Hey Mike - as part of your cluster installation, did you have to do any additional wiring to pick up the tachometer signal or was it just "plug and play"?

    Thanks,
    Robert

You have to run a wire through the firewall to the PCM under the battery. There is an open spot for it in the red plug there.
