    They certainly do.
I worked for BMW New Zealand in a similar capacity when I was a university student and remember driving a 750i V12 for the first time after much time driving the same model with the 3.5 litre six (it was 1990). On startup and initial acceleration, it was like having two sixes working in unison - turbine-smooth and very quiet - and, I was silly enough to use the same amount of throttle as I did with the sixes.

I feel like the only guy who picked a wagon even close to my own! I guess I'm the only sucker for what my mom would call a Stodgy old man car.

I would like to build a 65 ranch wagon with a big block and 4 speed, marron with a tan interior like the one my family had when I was a kid. No bucket seats and small hubcaps and quit mufflers and a good sound system, the one we had was a 289/3 speed and was last seen in the mid 90s and wish I would of folowed it.

For a daily driver I'd go with a Volvo P1800 with all the running gears from a Subaru WRX STi crammed up under it. Tan leather makes it classy. I like 'em dark green or blue, or maybe silver.(y)

For a Tow vehicle I'd like a '70 LTD squire, mild 514(meaning pump gas)with a turbo,C6 with a gear vendors overdrive unit. 4 wheel discs, big sway bars, and of course P/S, P/B, A/C, CD/MP3, and all that other crap. I'll take it black or white, with the factory tough vinyl, in red just for contrast.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

For the drag car, gimme a '78-83 Malibu, looking stock 'cept for a set of ProStars, basic 350/350 combo, but with good parts to hold up to the Paxton 'charger, and a 9" out back too. Any color works on these cars for me.:D

Just thinking about these makes my bank account shudder with fear, but man...what about a DD that would go 13s and get 25 mpg, a tow vehicle probably in the 12s(forget mpg-double digits would be lucky-pulling the drag car or more junk,er,projects home)and the drag car would have to run 9s to even bother with it. This was a "what if" wasn't it??;)

A Matter of Taste and what you grew up with

I was born in the era of the long, low, station wagons where sitting in the "back-back" as my wife calls it was really neat-o. I always loved the 1966-68 Fords with the stacked headlights. They had a lot of elegance. If I was building one, no tack paper, I would put real wood on the sides.

I also really liked the 56-58 Mercury Station Wagons! That was a lot of car. Some of them had air-conditioning as well.

There is only one kind of Station Wagon and that is an American station wagon,I can't believe in this site how many people go on about Jap and Euro Estate cars as dream cars.

For me, my wagon would be...well, the one I have, a 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Estate Wagon. With the "unlimited funds" I would totally restore it to show room condition, every detail and all stock, no modifications. (y)
