Well I bought the Chevy and the Buick is still here. Maybe they are male and female and will reproduce a baby gm wagon before the Buick leaves. LOL

Wow - it's hard to keep track of this thread -two wagons, no wagons, now two again! Glad to hear you've got at least one of them. I hope it all works out the way you want it to - if that means you get to keep both, more power to you!

I am sure the Buick is sold, it just has not been picked up yet. I called the owner on the Chevy today and we talked for along time and reached a very fair agreement on the wagon. Before buying it I wanted to get a shipping qoute. I put it out for bid and for $250 it will be here tomorrow from Seymour IN. I could not even drive down and pick it up for that. Anyway, details on the Chevy are as follows

1973 Chevrolet Impala wagon, 400/400 combo (special ordered this way) A/C (working), trailer tow package so 9 leaf springs, 4 core radiator, and factory trailer brake control with factory wire harness and reese hitch(currently removed) Exterior color is Chamie tan and interior is carmel tan. Interior is vinyl and rear two seats are perfect, carpet is perfect and all the rear panels are almost as nice as my Buick. Dash has three cracks and one very minor tear in the drivers seat. Exterior is excellent, no rust, no dents, no door dings. All chrome is perfect with no diecast peeling marks and such. Car has power rear window and power tailgate(not sure why it has the handle like a manual gate car does). The original owner ordered the car with what options she wanted. When she ordered the car she was 39 years old and living in North Carolina. She used the car to pull a small trailer with her art supplies in it. She has ALL the original paperwork from when the car was bought new. She also has ALL the maintenance records including the oil changes every 2,000 miles. I am very excited about the Chevy. Not extremely fond of the color but I just could not go without having a wagon. For what I paid for it I can drive it till winter, store it and resell next summer if I find exactly what I am after, AND, if for some reason the Buick does not get picked up, I can afford to keep both cars........now I have the dilemma of getting another garage if I keep both of them

That's a good problem to have Swanny - build more garage space! Looking forward to seeing pics of your new ride - sounds like a great find!

Happy birthday jrwscout. I will get pictures of it as soon as it gets home. Trying to decide on a set of wheels for it right now. Not going with Torque thrusts on this one. Trying to decide what to put on it

Watch the Reese hitch if you think about installing it. I don't know about that particular one, but modern (say the last 20 years or so for Fords) are not "no drill' installs. The mount to the bottom of the frame rails. Never again will I have one. That is what made my 89 Grand Marquis virtually unrepairable. The frame rails tore when the car got rear ended. Had it been a Draw-Tite or E-Z Lift, mounted to the sides of the rails, they could have been pulled back straight. As it was, the car was never going to tow again, and fixing it was over 4 times what the car was worth. Still kicking myself over losing that one-of-one car.

Hitch will never go back on it. It's done towing, it's just a cruiser car now. She has been retired from heavy work

Your right Teddy, I have a circus going on in my head most of the time...........But as of today I have 2 wagons. The Buick is suppose to leave tomorrow night and the Chevy should be here late tonight or early tomorrow morning. I sent payment for the Chevy and I already paid the transport company. Now if the buyer of the Buick does not show up or for some reason does not like it........it will remain here also. But if he does show up and pays for the car it will leave. Then I will only have one wagon which will be the Chevy.......for now. Either way I will be driving around in a mid 70's GM clamshell wagon until late Oct/Nov when the stupid salt trucks start cruising the roads.
