I have never seen or heard that before. That was awesome... and a little scary because I know about Daleks. They are crafty. Worse than Cybermen. Thanks for sharing that. I am going to have to have Z hear that some day.

I used to visit this non technical section of a Pontiac Fiero place every day: http://www.fiero.nl/cgi-bin/fiero/f...um=Totally+O/T&number=6&DaysPrune=2&LastLogin=
But lately it has been taken over by what one ex member called "Jack Booted Thugs".
    Sadly, I have to agree.

I used to graze on Jalopnik, but the pop ups made it not so much fun, so I never go there anymore.

Photoshop Phriday is almost always good for a laugh: http://www.somethingawful.com/d/photoshop-phriday/

T and I both visit Yelp.com, and I cruise Serious Eats and Chef Talk sometimes.

YouTube is a great time killer/ waster....
And then there are the local newspapers online....:162:

The worst part is, the administrator/webmaster/owner is fine with the direction the forum has taken.

Oh well, I'm glad that the people here are nice!

I won't EVER join one of those 'social' sites. Too risky.

When Windows 95 was in its last BETA form (1994), I was a Microsoft Developer in VB (Visual Basic), (private contractor). They asked me to play with it, and offer ideas. I worked on the smiley functions.

Some of the weirdest geeks and groups. Now, I can just and only imagine how that whole circus is. No thanks!:naughty:

    Where do I graze, huh?

I used to read the Canadian News sites, until I realized how influenced they are by our Federal Government, so I chase down International News sources for 'unfiltered' gossip (Canadian Government washes its dirty laundry outside the country). The whole point of any News source is so you can adjust your way of life, if you have to, according to the FACTS. We get pundits, 'translating' the facts to sell books or articles or brown-nose up some politician's skirt!

Now, on the more immediate sites, I really love woodworking, so I graze on the sawdust sites:

This is a Russian resource, and once you scan this one's English treasures, you'll take a good look at your subscriptions:

    http://woodtools.10gb.ru/index.htm
    http://mirror.woodtools.nov.ru/index.htm

This is the best open tradesmen forum on making sawdust, repairing wood stuff, etc.

    And I like FREE stuff!

This one is a real prize of old books on woodworking.

Movies and old radio shows (theatre)
    http://www.archive.org/details/OrsonWellesMrBruns

I'm a jazz fan, mostly from the post war years to about 1990 -Brubeck is my hero, but Hoagy Carmichael keeps Georgia on My Mind, so I listen to this, at different times:
    http://www.groovefm.ca/other/index.html

And when the wife gets nasty, I put this on to calm the savage beast (after 10 AM), Major news breaks run from 12 noon to 2:00 PM, and again from 7:00 to 9:30 PM) and back to music!
    http://www.mmradio.com/player/376

AND!!! I found a tool to download the music (piece by piece) and save the files in WAV Format! FREE also!

    http://atube-catcher.dsnetwb.com/video/

Just hit the Audio downloader and change to any of three formats, then put it on a CD for your MP3 player.

Old car commericals by year and model, anyone?
    http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=subject%3A%22Car%20Commericals%22

Plus! That Archive site is searchable by topic or author or title, and allows legal downloads of old documents, movies, ads, from ALL OVER the planet:

    This is my Home!
    http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/

but I flirt over here too!

And my favourite author on World History:
    http://www.willdurant.com/home.html

If you haven't read "The Story Of Civilization" - 10 or 12 volumes, get your library to find a copy of at least Volume One. It has a summary of all the organized and known civilizations from the Chinese Dynasties to 1981. In it, there is well-referenced information about the ONLY civilization to ever have over 1,100 years without Famine, War, Welfare, and with FULL EMPLOYMENT, RUN BY.... WOMEN!!! Even the men didn't rebel! :D
