I understand what you're saying about the '02-'06 models. We went looking at full size Chevy pickups at one point and ended up driving a new 2007 Avalanche. My wife has a lower back issue and couldn't stand the seat in the '07. It just happened that this dealer had taken a 2002 Avalanche in trade and it was much less expensive, so I asked to see it. It was in near mint condition and the seats were so comfortable that we bought it. It had 117k on it and ran like new.

The '17 Burb is definitely improved over the '07 to '14 models. My wife is comfortable in the passenger seat and it is much quieter than the earlier models that I have ridden in. It's also all black and looks like a Secret Service vehicle, which I enjoy. We have had the late 90's Burb's as well and I do agree that they were more comfortable, with better visibility.

With all that said, it's tough to beat my '75 LTD Country Squire for sheer roominess, comfort, and heft. I've tuned up the 460 so she gets going pretty quickly too.

If you happen to ever end up with a lemon, the best way to get rid of it is to park it in France on New Year's Eve. France should shut its mouth about what carbon footprints other countries leave behind:
