One of the upgrades I'm thinking about for the Bonneville Safari. Fairly easy install?

Cool! Good luck! What size engine? My buddy had a 65 Malibu SS with a 283 when I had my 64 Impala SS. I wanted to put a 572 in the Impala, just to have more than twice the engine he had!

Finished up the front end rebuild, added the rear sway bar, and tried to fix the headlight mounting brackets (Drat&%$#@!!!!!) I may have to convert the front end to Caprice parts if I can't locate a decent Left side headlight mounting bracket!!!!! The 35 year old plastic is just 2 brittle to hold the spring pressure of the adjustment hardware.

But I loaded the Wife both Greyhounds and went for thanksgiving dinner. Sure does ride nice with the new bushings and front end parts!!!!

Over the long weekend I was able to tinker a bit on the motor. Installed the fuel pump, some hoses, carb linkage, etc. Stopping tonight at O'Reilly's for some brake cleaner as it's what works best for cleaning crud in the engine compartment. Also hoping to pull the heating system apart today so I can go through it and completely restore and detail the system.

Also noticed that somebody ran a stainless braided brake line across to the passengers side front brake.. looks like crap and I don't like where it's hangin'.. so my plans are to over haul the complete system and upgrade my master cylinder (currently manual.. ) with a power booster setup.

    PERTRONIX WARNING

If you install a Pertronix MAKE SURE that your coil is hooked up correctly. If you have an old system with points it doesn't matter if the + or - is connected to the starter/distributor, so someone may have hooked it up backwards along the years and it still works.

I know because I put one on my '57 Chevrolet 6 cylinder. Someone had the coil hooked up backwards and even though I thought it was wrong I hooked the Pertronix up the way that it was wired and it fried immediately. After research I found all this out and had to get another one, turn the coil around, and it's been working great.

And Volts to it also, do not use the resister wire that feeds the points Dist, usually only 9 volts.
