If I may add my twopence worth here, I also love the look of the Buick Rally Wheels. They do dress the car perfectly. Only thing is, they were designed for these big cars to have whitewall tires on them. That would really finish off the look.

For something that is ALMOST stock, but a little different, Wheel Vintiques makes the Buick Rally Wheel in a 16 inch diameter, which opens up a world of higher performance tires to help ride and handling.

The tires are white wall tires. The reason I mounted the white walls in is because the other set of tires I have are white lettered. I might have to break down and buy a couple more tires with white walls so I can mount the white walls out. So thanks to the overwhelming response on what wheels to go with. I will be getting the other two rally wheels done and installed becore the car show next week

Rebuilt my Autolite, and got it all installed yesterday, along with a new solenoid. The Green Machine is running great! Dropped her off at the muffler shop today, to see if we can't come up with something a little quieter.

I lifted the distributor cap on the Buick and wiped the contacts with fine steel wool. I cleaned the end of the rotor with steel wool also.
I squirted carburetor cleaner down its throat while I was there.
:yahoo: Now I have a smooth Idle, and I'll pick up a new cap and rotor when its convenient.
I replaced a missing vacuum line to the distributor advance.
I took another layer of grime from the 35 year old steering wheel.
Only a couple of sticky spots left now.
Next: Find a good torx wrench/bit for the door strikers and seatbelts.
Doors need to be adjusted, and the front seatbelts are in urgent need of replacement.
Does anyone know if right and left GM seat belts are the same?
    Front and rear?

I had actually given up on finding one. I was both excited and shocked.
I constantly forget time marches on, and '80 vintage stuff isn't easy to find any more, esp here in New England in general.
    :slap:
There is an '85 Caprice, nose in the air, off the ground parked in a yard on the street behind me. The plates indicate it has been like that since '97. The guy looks like a hoarder, so I am not sure if I should try to approach him/leave a note or just forget I saw it.

I'd go for it, but take a big box of stuff to trade him instead of cash...:D

Well my Wagon arrived two weeks ago, and so I got stuck into her.....cutting out the rust and welding in new metal, then I attacked the tail gate.
Then I started on her dented flanks and doors, pulling dents etc. I'm waitiing on some panels so I can repair the wheel arches.

Removed and repainted the tail light housings. Bought 4 more Buick ralleys and two more center caps. Removed the torque thrusts and had a guy pick them up. Now to detail the car, finish the wheels and get them reinstalled before next Saturday for the car show

On my 61 Ford i replaced the pushrod cover gasket insp and adjusted the brakes and adjusted camber on front end. On the 63 Ford i changed the oil and drove it to the home store and picked up wood and some cement. Got really strange looks loading the car up.
