Remember I dabble in sewing machine repairs too, where sacrificial fiber gears do apply. :D

This is more like what I haven't done, an abs sensor went out on one wheel around a month ago which means the abs, tcs and bas are disabled and I couldn't be happier, I'm now able to get into my driveway in ice & snow without having to accelerate across 4 lanes of traffic and pray that the tcs doesn't shut me down part way in, plus I can induce over and under steer at will to control the car. I'll repair the system in the spring before I sell the Magnum and be secretly happy that it's replacement does not have any nanny aids.

The Parkwood "Sarge" is in the body shop. The weather has turned cold so we're not getting much done. It looks like its gonna be a week or better before the weather improves. We're prepping the body for paint. Including wet sanding. The seats are at the upholsterer. Once we get the body done, its off to the painter. When I get it back, the seats will be ready. These are the last steps...I'm so ready.

    Me too. (y)

We have found a replacement truck for Old Rusty, while he is under going some needed repairs. So with another ride to work in place, I have been able to get Lil'Sis undercoated and tucked into her shelter for a few months. She has a full tank with Sta-bill added. All papers and other loose items have been removed. Silica packs have been scattered about and the windows have been opened a crack, enough for air flow but not rodents. It's a good bad day. :sour:

Those little buggers can get pretty darn tiny.

Yup. I once stored a 4-door Fairmont in a 10X20 storeroom, windows cracked maybe 1/4 inch, and the buggers still got in! I had a V8 exhaust from an '82 CV under the car, and when I finally pulled it out, a metric F-ton of ramen noodle bits came pouring out! Unfortunately, no pic, as this was in the days before cellphone cameras.

As in you have purchased another vehicle? Or are you just borrowing one?

I may be a bit old fashioned but I still keep mothballs scattered around, in and under my cars while they're put away.

If I had known that when I stored the Fairmont, I would've done it.
