Wife got the Legacy tagged and titled today!

And my son and I spent some time on the wagon this evening before the trick-or-treaters starting coming around. :)

Tightened the parking brake cable, topped of the coolant reservoir, checked rest of the fluids, polished the headlight covers.

Also we noticed an occasional surging or hunting of the idling, so we cleaned the Idle Air Control Valve by running some Seafoam through it, seemed to do the trick.

Also removed hubcaps for now (they are in poor condition and we are missing one).

We will either locate a fourth and paint as a complete set, or just run the steels for now and try to locate some alloy rims next year.

I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon to get a new set of Michelins all around.

After that, my son has made it clear he will claim it for his own. Yes, I'll allow it for now. ;)

Still have an issue with the driver window hanging up (slipping?/jumping teeth?/grinding?) when it is raised. We'll probably have to tear apart the door when we have a free weekend to see what's going on with that.

Also unfortunately the wagon is on it's original clutch, and yes I can make it slip slightly if I gun it while cruising in a high gear.

Will probably have to budget a new clutch in sooner rather than later.

Altogether though, I am very thrilled with the wagon. Looking forward to getting it on the road officially tomorrow! :)

Procured and installed the optional Vista window shade.
All I had to do was paint the surround (it was tan), screw the retainers back on and slip on the shade assembly . Just a matter of unsnapping the old trim and sticking that up there, almost too easy.
I think the car has very available option except posi now?
Before anybody asks the about seeing an exhaust pipe in the pic, the car is sitting below my GTO in the garage.
I have a lift BTW, I didn't drive the goat up up onto the top of the Custom Cruiser, would it be be a mountain goat if I did??:D
I have a 1-1/2 car wide by two car high garage, had to make lemonade out of lemons so I could get another toy in there.:)

I just gave my wagon a bath after getting it back from the body shop. I had a little rust fixed on the rt rear quarter and left D-pillar along with a dent and some popped paint on the left rear quarter from someone being careless with the spare tire. Also I had my rear bumper cover redone also it had a couple of tears from being hit and some gouges on the corners.

I guess I never took any pics that showed all the damage except this one.

And here are a few I took after the work and bath.

I pushed my 1995 MB E320 wagon out of the garage, and onto the lawn, waiting for the junk yard to come for it. I wasted enough time and money on it, and it still won't run! I hate fuel injected cars!!!!!!

WHOA JUNK! That is drastic but I certainly understand your frustrations working on these newer cars. Keep the jack and tire tool!

I unfortunately had to drive mine in the snow today. Not something I EVER wish to do with the Colony Park.

I drove my truck to work yesterday, and when I went to move it on break, it wouldn't start. I could hear the starter turn, but it wasn't engaging. My brother couldn't get it, he tired while I was working. My buddy and I putzed with it on my 2nd break. We got it to engaged and noticed it was loose. We got it running after work and I drove it home.

I didn't get a chance to look at it, so my brother was nice enough to while I was at work, today. One bolt was gone and the other was barely hanging in there. He said if I hit another bump or two, the starter would've fallen right off!

Had a Suburban that did the same thing. The bolt broke off in the housing and was a biotsh to get out!

Well, didn't do anything to the '58 lately other than put hundreds of miles on her. But this morning it was bloody cold out and I learned one thing... I GOTTA' GET THAT HEATER FIXED!

Never have I seen ice form on the inside of the window glass before!

Other than that, drove all the way to Portland and back. No problems and the wagon ran flawlessly. Get lots of 'mouth open' looks from kids in other cars. I wonder if that will ever get old...? ;)

If the heater core isn't leaking, but is just clogged, not allowing the coolant to flow through it, then reverse the supply and return hoses on the engine block, and you should have heat again. You will be pushing the "junk" into the engine block and radiator, but if the heater core is clogged, so is the radiator and block, and eventually all will need to be cleaned. Sure beats having a cold car!!!!

Not even hooked up to the engine coolant yet. New carpet and don't want to soil it with anti-freeze at the moment. Going to pull the core and have a radiator shop pressure test it first. The fan and all the other stuff works, just don't want to mess up the carpet.

Jairus, hate to hear that about your heater, but perfectly understandable about not wanting to ruin your carpet.

I've fought the cold with bad/leaking/bypassed heater cores over the years more times than I care to mention.

Until you get your heat squared away, consider running an extension cord and plugging in a small electric space heater in your floorboard and let it run over night. (obviously unplug it before driving, but I'm saying this b/c I know someone will make a crack if I don't ;) )

Will keep the ice away in the morning, and unless it's simply sub-freezing artic blasting brutally cold out, will most likely allow you to get where you are going pretty comfortably.

Oh, if you don't have a small electric space heater, a common halogen work light works darn good too. :)
