    Don't really know you to comment but I hope you're Ok anyway. When I get some more time, I'll tell you about this neat gadget from bowler transmissions that enables you to turn the electric O'D on and off at your own discretion.

    ------------At first I had a simple toggle switch that I could turn the torque converter off or on but we only drive it like an old man now so removed that. Just by kicking into passing, overdrive does kick out.

    Changed the steering wheel on the Bonneville today;

    I think the wheel came from a mid-80's Firebird; it's been hanging on the garage wall for years....

    You can also see my next project in the second photo. I'm adding a Grand Prix console and floor shifter this winter. More to follow...

    BIG improvement on that Poncho dude! I dig the wheel. :clap:

    I didn't do much today. Woke up with a major headache and still am suffering.
    But I did manage to finish the door locks regardless. Now the poor ol'58 can be completely locked up at the curb.

    Sadly my 1941 Ford, Chevy powered, was our driver until about three years ago when we parked it for no real reason. I believe that Firebird wheel is what's in it too. I love your dash and the original steering wheel wasn't bad. -Nope I just checked. Mine is a Firebird but with only two wide spokes. Shoulda looked before I leaped.

    Eye Surgery Story

    A couple of years ago, my wife had lens replacement surgery due to cataracts. She was legally blind (20/200) so they implanted corrective lenses. When I saw her after they unbandaged her eye the next day, the first thing she said was "Where did all those wrinkles on your face come from?"

    -One advantage of being married to a blind woman! I had that done 4 years ago. wife two. Great surgery. I got in a fight with a long tree branch this summer and knocked one lens into my eyeball. Would have done same with factory original I was told. Waiting till Tuesday to get the old one fished out and another new lens. Ain't modern medicine great? PS Your wife still loves ya doesn't she?

    Dynoed the big block yesterday. Almost ready to go in the Caprice, just need a torque converter.

    613 hp @ 5700, 675 lb/ft @ 4300.

    Should be a little more fun than the 300 hp small block that was in it!

    I can't figure out how to embed the vid, so here is a link to it on youtube.

    You are making me real jealous here, Rick!:D I love your whole set up. The wagon is a beauty and I love BB's and I love sleepers. Reminds me of my 88 Electra with the warmed up 455. Hope we get to see pix when the engine is sitting in that great wagon.(y)
