Sorry, "Cowl Vent". Was not clear since I posted this in my restoration thread.

I went ahead and painted the rust inhibitor on all exposed and rusty sheetmetal under there and have a fan going. Tomorrow morning it gets buttoned up and pulled out in the rain for a test. (With drip pan in the passenger footwell)
    :)

Oh, down inside there. I guess I'm lucky - mine doesn't leak there (yet).

I have known Mark for years, since I started driving, in fact. He was originally focused more on Body but did some work for me, as well as body and paint on our Model A. An excellent, and reasonable guy. I used to work for him part-time.
That's how car projects go sometimes. My Caprice needs a full resto, money hasn't allowed me to to jack, either has time.

water pump started leaking and when we got it off it was the one it came with from ford 41 years old also pulled valve covers and intake to replace leaking gaskets and repaint if they don't come clean.

Cooling system flush and fill this afternoon- again- to remove endless rust scale from lack of maintenance in the past. Next is the thermal fan clutch in my quest to get it to run at a consistent temp. When that is done, I will have replaced every component of the cooling system that has failed, which is all of them since I bought it almost two years ago. Thankfully I don't put a lot of miles on it.

Got my new Continental tires installed on the HHR today. Hope they last as long as the 60k treadwear warranty suggests. Note to self: This time, get your tires rotated regularly, dummy!

Just picked up a set of Drag Stars, I'll get picks once I get tires mounted.

I replaced a caliper on the Escort. It still needs a windshield. And the muffler has a hole now. Going to clean it out some today. Shame it's so rusty, I think it will probably run until the body falls apart. Guess that's what I get for buying a Chicago area car....:D

I started stripping my parts car.
For those who haven't seen my other thread, I got a "derelict vehicle" notice and have until the 27th to dispose of the car.
Started on the interior and was reminded in what excellent condition everything is.
The dash pad and console are near perfect. Usually these things are rotted and cracked after 30 years.

I spent the last month, on and off, trying to get this car running. I have decided that my wagon is going to find a new home. I will be posting it for sale today.

I saw your wagon at the Amherst NH car show at the end of September. That's really sharp looking.
