And you've got enough to put a little gas in the tank. :yup:

I found that my 91 OCC's vent hose from the filler was leaking the other day, so I decided to fix it last weekend. I knew I would have to R&R the tank, but that turned out to be the easy part.

The hose is attached about 8 inches from the side of the tank. I dropped the tank part way, and reached in and removed the clamp. I had to slice the hose to get it off, and only then could look at it for size. I assumed that it was 5/8 inch, because it was the largest size I could find, and was I ever surprised (wrong). I read the size on the hose, and it is 18.5mm (about 3/4 of and inch).

I do not know if anyone has tried finding a piece of 18.5mm, or even 3/4 inch fuel line hose at 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon, but it borders on the ridiculous. I spent an hour and a half on the phone searching for a piece, and finally found it at a speed shop that just, by chance, happened to still be open. It turned out to have stainless braid on the outside, and I thought...fine. Well, the braid is a major problem. The hose fit over the tank, but the braid would not go over the barb. I spent another hour loosening the braid so that it would go over the barb. The other end was just as bad. I finally got the hose installed and the clamps tightened, and proceeded to fight with the tank to get it back in place.

So, a job that should have taken an hour maximum, ended up becoming a 5 hour headache, running into the night, and necessitating getting out the drop light. Make sure you know exactly what you need, and if you ever need to replace the rubber filler vent hose on a 91-96 B-body wagon, the hose is a piece of 18.8mm or 3/4 inch fuel line. Get it before you start tearing the car apart, especially if you are going to do it on a weekend. This is a heads up for all owners of 91-96 B-body station wagons, and probably sedans, to check for parts availability before beginning anything, especially on a weekend.

The Ol 96 roadmaster was towed home on Saturday night. My son told me that coolant was pouring out the bottom of the engine! Sunday morning I pop the hood to find the Tee fitting that ties in the heater hose to the coolant bottle had cracked and broken off. That is a funny part because the coolant bottle side is a factory crimped on hose. the water pump side is a 5/8 and the firewall side is a 3/4 and NO ONE HAD ONE!!! So off to my freindly ACE harware store! Put together the perfect tee made of brass (bring the Blue book value up $30). installed it back in the car in about 15 minutes and filled the coolant and back on the road!

I bought for my daughters 96 roadie the "complete" fuel line assembly from our local GM dealer. It even came with a new fuel filter! Someone had ordered it put down half and never came back for it. Sat on a shelf for over a year. I won on that deal (right place right time)

Replaced the right side headlight assembly on the BMW due to condensation, fixed a flickering left headlight, and fixed completely dead left rear turn signal.

I found a rear sway bar for 20 bucks at the Pull-A-Part the other day, so I got around to installing it today. I had to drill 4 holes in my lower control arms, but it was easier than I thought and only took one battery charge with my drill. I rattle canned it and bolted it on. I haven't taken it for a spin yet 'cause I ended up pretty dirty and didn't want to grime up the seats, but I'll cruise it tomorrow...

Let's see here... I figured out that, while my turn signal control arm is broken and only hanging by the cruise control cable, I can still operate my turn signals. Well, sorta. It involves digging my finger around in the hole where the control arm used to be and pushing a little lever up or down. It's messy and inconvenient, but better than doing hand signals out the window. So now I'm on the search for something I can use to extend that lever until I can either replace the turn signal assembly or the entire steering column (It might be easier/cheaper to replace the whole thing, oddly enough). Also I'm looking into having a specialty company locate and fix all the leaks. It's no fun driving in the rain when you're constantly getting dripped on.

Oh, and I adjusted the steering wheel a bit (it was way off-center) and removed my stereo, which had apparently bit the dust. I located a nice CD-cassette combo which will replace the old cassette-only deck previously installed. So I'm getting things done, but it's been slow going lately. (y)

Re-gasketed the T-10 in my Safari. Darn thing was leaking from the retainer plate in between the body and tailshaft. 20 bux for the gaskets, 7 hours to install them. (my first time working on one) Now the task of installing the 92 lb unit back in the car myself. Heading out now to try and finish.

I finally was able to get around to having my mechanic look at my wagon today... he is a professional on old Chevy engines. He said my engine was sound and solid and believes that my issue is the transmission and highly suggests I get it rebuilt.

Sooooooo, that is next on my list.
