Today i have checked the airsystem for leaks and got the electric in order. HHavent decided yet if i should keep the controls, and gauges in the panel, or if i should put them in my planned center console.. This is kind of how it looks right now..

My front floor mats kept sliding around so I got some of the correct size snap fittings and attached them to the floor mats so I could snap them down to the original floor mat fittings on the floor. The original mats are long gone and they aren't easy to come by.
I'm saving up for the good mats that the Impala SS guys get.
They don't have snaps either, I have more.:)

Last few weeks on my '91 Legacy: Got exhaust leak fixed, state inspected, removed the ugly peeling black paint from side window trims -just going to leave them unpainted for now.

I finished giving my wagon a thorough Spring cleaning inside and out, and got around to getting a heavy set of rubber floor mats.

Also finally located the correct 1990-1991 wheel covers in good shape (I'm sure my fellow wagoneers can appreciate my irrational giddiness for something as simple as correct model/year hubcaps!)

Looks really nice, bone. Not many around that look that good anymore.
I'd love to have it. :yup:

Very clean and tight. I've always wanted to take an older Subaru 4x4 wagon and restore.. perhaps one day. Your Legacy is killer.. nice job! :tiphat:

Thanks, I'm working on it, slowly but surely.

Worst part of my wagon right now is the rust behind rear wheels, many Subarus have it and mine does as well. Getting both spots fixed, along with the few patches of missing paint/rust around roof rack mounts are the "big" issues. Then I'll tackle repainting both bumper covers which show quite a few battle scars.

But for a daily driver it's great! Just weeks ago it just smoked through 8 inches or so of snow/ice during old man winter's last gasp, and now am cranking the A/C during our recent 80 degree F days (Just LOVE Virginia weather!)

    Thanks!

Bought it about two years ago from original owner. It was in decent shape, but it did need some love.

I would love to find a nice '78 Subaru 4wd wagon one day. Who knows! :)

A couple of weeks ago I finally got a chance to change a few things on my '67 Vista Cruiser. First was to replace the old glass-fuse panel with a new Painless unit. The wires were not in bad shape so we just did a bit of extending. soldering and shrink wrapping. 3 days of work but it turned out great. I feel much safer now and everything is working again. :dancing:
The other part of this renovation was to install white face gauges in the dash. So, after pricing gauges and what it would take to install them, I decided to go with the white face overlays instead. I had a better, extra dash and pad, so I used it to do the upgrade. That way, I could remove the old dash, (which gave good access to the wiring), and then replace it when the wiring was done. It took some work but it got done. I also had some gauges mounted below the dash and decided to move them up to where the old speaker used to be. Made an aluminum plate, brush finished it and installed it. Next, I got the dash to install the new stereo. Since I had some extra pieces of cover trim for a non-ac car, I cut it to fit the gaps and glued it in place. This way, the radio looks like it belongs there. Also installed new headlight, ignition, and tailgate switches and a new amber plastic for the hi-beam indicator. I also had to make a new plastic with letters for the heat/ac controls. Press-on black letters worked out great. I had to do this because the overlay kit does not include this part(?).
While I had the dash panel apart, I painted all the light areas with white so the dash would light up better. I am still deciding if I want to try red or blue lighting but, for now, it's nice and bright. I know white face gauges aren't everyone's cup of tea but, I like them. The whole dash looks bright and clean. If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll fill you in on the overlays or anything else. Here's a couple of pics of the transformation:
