I remember very well the 460 I had in my '79 F350 Crew cab - the one I towed my 5th wheel TT with. It of course didn't get real good gas mileage, but driving it you could just tell it was reliable and it was dependable. Only failed me once, and I think that was a radiator hose IIRC, not a motor problem.

When I bought my wagon, the seller gave me a lead on a very nice grille for my wagon. I stopped by the guy's shop on my way home, and was able to pick it up. Today, I cleaned up the new grille, and swapped them out. The old grille cleaned up some, but no where near as shiny as the replacement. Plus it had a flaw on the top corner. Also, changed my oil. Here are some pics:

Today I took advantage of the nice weather and got most of my engine back together. Hopefully it will be done next weekend. Just need to finish vacuum hoses put upper rad hose on (coming in the mail this week) make my custom pcv hose fill it with coolant and set timing a few Hail Marys and maybe it will actually start.

I also took advantage of the weather and started to disassemble, clean, and redye my interior. Also need to reupholster the cargo area panels. Lots to do, but I go a bunch done. It isn't show quality, but what is done so far looks SO much better!

Prepped the engine and tranny Saturday for installation. Finally got to the point where I could drop it in. I'm now fabbin' up some motor mounts so I can get to setting this thing up. Lots left to do, but at least I'm making progress. Summer's coming and I want to be ready! (y)

I just pulled out carpet, seats, and interior trim to clean floors, put in sound proofing, new carpets, and install rear jump seats that I picked up. The floors were pretty clean. A Nickle size hole under rear pass seat and dime size hole in driver floor pan. I am going to put panel bond and small patch panel to repair holes. I will POR-15 the entire floor.
There is a patch panel on foot well- not sure how I am going to fix that if at all. Suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated. Also, anyone have any ideas on what to do foot well with as far as an interior covering? I am thinking carpeting....I will follow with some pics...

    Pic of spare tire cover...

Here is a quick before and after of the spare tire cover. Still need to work out the bubble below the handle. Then everything will get hit with the heat gun which should shrink things up a little and tighten up the center area.

I added a richmond lockright locker to my 8 inch 3:88 differential:chirp: the other day and put it in with some long studs for the track:evilsmile:. Going to be looking for an AOD tranny soon so if you hear anything, let me know.
    Thanks,
    Dave.
