I was just teasing, I know you didn't know to the last minute. Two or more station wagons in one place is considered a show. I thought you should have invited us.

    Hey Captian...

Be easy 'bout them Hill Billys, I was born in that state where the trees don't branch, and people don't ever leave the town. Clarksburg, then lived in Lumberport. My grandaddys brother took over the 'family business' when my Uncle(as we called him), took a tumble from a mountain top on a tractor, took 6 days to dig him out of the snow... Unfortunate :-(( ...But right then Uncle D became a rich man, had more dairy than anyone in the whole state!!! Now that's hill-billy justice... My grandaddy (GOD bless him) raised me until I was 5, what a man!!! Taught me to deal poker at 4 and sip beer at 5... Parents retrieved me at 5 had went to Cleveland...Mom didn't like the smell of beer on my breath!!!
Now here's the part that might be a coincidence...Moved to the S'side of J'ville in 63. So where you living there. I still have lots of family there and have a 40th. Graduation Reunion in Dec.. Might see you around!!!

I took my '71 Estate Wagon on it's first drive since I bought it and rebuilt it to the local AACA show. Lots of high dollar cars there but it got lots of positive attention, everyone seemed to remember them and have memories of them in the day. I had the gate up and the window rolled into the roof and a very nice lady came over and in a low voice asked me if I couldn't afford to replace the window, or if I just couldn't find a replacement. I showed her how it worked and she called a bunch of her friends over to see the gate and window in action. They loved it. I'll get pics of it up soon.

I was at the Chevron station buying cigarettes and a Pepsi, just around the cornor. As I was getting back into my 1972 Dodge Monaco some woman 2 gas pumps away from me yelled as I started the wagon " Hey I got pregnant with my first daughter in a Dodge wagon just like that !! " That was funny as hell

best is probably "I wouldn't be caught dead driving a wagon....

    ...but I'd take yours"

Lots of passing comments at gas pumps, stores, etc. Lots of good comments -to me and in passing- at SCCA events.

My daughters would always try to be 'invisible' whenever I dropped them off or picked them up from school......

UPDATE: at the shooting range,to qualify for a firearms permit, classmates(including some that were in their 50's and should have known better)--- "That car sure is long in the hood!" "And it sticks far out in back too." When I explained that it was two and a half feet shorter in length and six or seven inches slimmer in width than my 68 Colony Park--- "Are you sure they were longer than that back then?" "I used to have a Ford like that.It was a 71,but it wasn't as big as that one..."
