Funny, I am the same way. I admire the architecture and the signage as much as the cars in the setting.

As a Mustang fan I find the image of the 67/68 Mustang coming towards the camera in juxtaposition to the 70's Mustang II going away from the camera an interesting commentary on the way automotive design and thought change for the same model in a decade. Of course the same can be said for just about every one of these "vintage" photos. What was once the cutting edge of design becomes dated very quickly in comparison to what is on the road only a few short years latter.

This is in response to a post a few pages ago, and I came upon this completely by accident, but here is a vintage Wal Mart parkinglot shot.

I know a gentleman whose family was friends with the Waltons...he showed me old family photos of his father and uncle with Sam Walton and his kids. He told me about how Sam would drive from store to store, wearing bib overalls, in a rickety old pickup, having the auto center change the oil first to inspect them, then going inside the store, seeking out the manager and going aisle by aisle to change prices in order to move merchandise faster. I wonder if one of those rickety old pickups above is his?
