Also preserved on celluloid via the movie "Oceans 11" from 1960.

Looks like they moved the entrance to another side of the building.

I remember this Caldor's well, since we would pass it on the way home from Carlisle in the spring and fall. Once when we stopped in there, they have R12 (12 ounce cans) on sale for 99 cents, since it was close to the date that you would need to have a license to purchase it. I bought 6 cases, and now, in hindsight, I wish that I had bought the whole pallet.

And I was born almost directly across the street from Caldors. Before Caldors it was EJ Korvettes. Grew up just a few miles from there across the mill street bridge in Ct.

I don't think I have ever seen this shot with the bomber on top of the sign. I love it! I'm going to have to find out more about it. Thanks for posting it.

From what I found it isn't actually a bomber on that sign, it's actually an advertisement for Western Airlines. Still it's cool, but I can't seem to come up with any other images. Oh well. At least now I know.

All these photos from the 1950s-1970s... It's showing me a side of America that this band took off in:

With songs like "Rock Lobster" "There's A Moon In The Sky (Called The Moon)" and "53 Miles West of Venus" (The latter which was on their second album.)
