Not if they are looking for work. It was very common in the 40's and 50's for out of work young men to stand on a street corner of some affluent neighborhood waiting for someone to pick them up for a days handy man employment.

Today they lay in front of the TV and collect a check from the government.

This picture is from the early 70's judging from the 70 Fairlane/Torino in the driveway in the distance and the Datsun parked on the street. I of course like the 67 Belvedere wagon driving down the street and the 66 Dodge Coronet 440 2 door hardtop parked in the foreground.

This looks like a 1957 Cadillac Nomad. I'll bet they are rare.

Not sure if they ever made this one into a concept car.
Found another from 1960 and I think there may be one from 1961.
Sure have some real style. Might be a great idea for another build.

    One from the personal archives.....

Well, the photo has a street in it (the one I grew up on...) and it has a wagon, a '56 Chevy Bel Air.

I'm not sure of the year in this one. My dad, my older sister Jean, my younger sister Andrea, and me. In my early years, I was small for my age, so I'm probably a bit older in this photo than I appear. Based on the way everybody is dressed, this could be a photo taken immediately after my mom's funeral - May, 1962. Relatives were over of course, and maybe somebody saw chance to lighten the mood a bit.

Funny thing about the neighbors across the street. We never knew their name. Never talked to them.

Very nice Marshall. You all look happy, you were a handsome young man. (I can see not much has changed) Sorry to hear you lost your mother so young.

I think you're right, I believe it's Monterey Pop; the Woodstock field was a lot lower behind the stage.
