Wagons in vintage Street scenes

The Mercury wagon in "The Fastest Indian" is a 1963 Mercury Colony Park.

If you get the DVD of that movie, the special features include an old documentary about the real man, which shows the car he actually used to tow his bike around America on at least one of his trips to the US to compete at Bonneville. In the documentary he uses a 1955 Chevy wagon to tow the Indian.

 

I don't know about driving around with the word TESTE emblazoned all over the car. They've got balls.

 

I did have a copy of it; his story was quite cool. I love the fact the guy who directed the movie knew Burt Munro personally, same as their motorcycle expert who knew every inch of the original to reproduce it to a "T" for the movie.

So the CP was a '63, huh? I still want it, and slip the blonde actress my baloney pony in it.
