Yea but this one is more like a nursing bra !:rofl2::yahoo:

As far as being strange bug shields I remember similar types on cars I've owned.

    That's an interesting question.

Since the picture was drawn from the City of Toronto archives I presumed that 20 Scadding Court was somewhere in Toronto in 1965. A Google Maps search reveals a Scadding Avenue in Toronto but but I couldn't find any reference to a 20 Scadding Avenue.

Scadding Court is only the name of a community centre now. I thought it would be cool to post a then and now picture but it appears like Scadding Court is now mostly green space apart from the Scadding Court Community Centre.

Is it silly to lament the loss of a gas station that I've never been to and didn't know existed? :)

1934 Dodge built on a KCL chassis... 6 cylinder with a 3 speed transmission that had a top speed of about 45 - 50 MPH. I had a 1934 KCL pick up that was beautiful to look at, but horrible to drive. Sold it little over 10 years ago to a fellow in New Mexico. Haven't seen it since.

It's a slow day so this has consumed a fair amount of my time. There is a long story surrounding the area that this Shell station was located in. None of that has anything to do with station wagons so I won't go into it. That photo and a number of others like it were taken as part of the planning project that resulted in a good portion of the Alexandra neighbourhood being demolished in the late 60's to put in a park and a public housing project.

Based on all that I've read about that neighbourhood this afternoon I think they may have been better off leaving the Shell station there. :)

Loads more pictures of all that was torn down at the Metro Toronto archives.
