Without Warning! is a 1952 black-and-white film directed by
Arnold Laven. The film is shot in a semidocumentary-style
with police procedural voice-over narration in parts.
Without Warning! was released commercially for the first time
    on DVD in 2005.
Starring: Adam Williams as Carl Martin
    Meg Randall as Jane Saunders
Ed Binns as Lt. Pete Hamilton
Harlan Warde as Police Detective Sgt. Don Warde
    John Maxwell as Fred Saunders
    Angela Stevens as Blonde
Byron Kane as Police Chemist Charlie Wilkins
    Charles Tannen as Wolf
    Marilee Phelps as Virginia
Robert Foulk as Wilson, Motel Manager
    Connie Vera as Carmelita
Robert Shayne as Dr. Werner, Police Psychiatrist

Storyline: Carl Martin lives in a shack on a hill overlooking
Los Angeles (Chavez Ravine, soon to be Dodger Stadium)
he is a morose and deranged Los Angeles gardener, who,
in retribution for the infidelity of his unfaithful wife, sets
about to kill as many blonde's as he can. From the time
the film opens, to the sound of a radio turned up full-blast
over the still-warm corpse of a blonde, the audience knows
the identity of the killer. The film depicts, with a documentary
realism style (much like TV's Dragnet) as it was shot on
location in and around Los Angeles, how the police, using
laboratory techniques against the few clues they have,
track down Martin. Their key clue is a spring from a pair
of garden shears. The police move in just as Martin is
about to add Jane Saunders, the daughter of a greenhouse
owner, to his long list of victims.

Dueck-Nicoll Motors located at 1305 West Broadway in Vancouver, B.C. The sedan delivery service car below looks like it might be a super rare 1942 model. Further evidence of this being during war time is that the driver appears to be a woman. While not entirely unheard of in those days, it’s much more likely that this position was held by a man in peacetime. The Dueck half of the partnership is still doing business in Vancouver with General Motors dealerships in three locations.

    RE: #9413 - 2nd pic

Notice the complete lack of lane markings, except for the divider line? Obviously a 2-lane each way thoroughfare, but I guess back then you made your own lanes......

Interesting that an Illinois car has more than 5 parking tickets in LA. I would love to find a boot like that for my old car...

Division of Highways survey team adds to the congestion
at Highland Avenue off-ramp of the Hollywood Freeway.
Team members passed out questionnaires to motorists in
an effort to find out what causes the regular snarls at this
point. Motorists were asked whether they were on business,
or out shopping--or maybe just along for the ride.

Dusk is the most dangerous time of the day to travel on the freeways. Accidents occur more frequently shortly after sunset than at any other hour of the day, according to traffic authorities. They also point out that freeways usually produce the more spectacular accidents.

Traffic jam caused by a truck spilling gravel on the inbound San Bernardino Freeway. Traffic stopped so long that drivers got out
    of their cars. 1965

Shown is a section of the Hollywood Freeway completed in 1954.
To satisfy the needs of the world's highest per capita rate of 1.8
persons for each motor vehicle, Los Angeles has already built
308 miles of freeways. By 1980, the freeways will total 1,064
    miles. April 26, 1965
