Thanks for these identifiers, Gemnewt. I really appreciate knowing more about where and when the pics are from, and 'behind the scenes' info. I grew up in West L.A. in the late 50's / early 60's, but wasn't into the racing scene, and didn't get over to the Glendale area.

Later on in my working career, I visited Bistagne Bro's Auto Body on Chevy Chase Dr. in Glendale. I found out that Bob, George (and a third brother?) were heavily involved in car clubs, etc. in that area when they were younger. You may have heard of them......

I'm well acquainted with Bistagne Bro's Auto Body in Glendale.
I lived at 123 South Verdugo rd. Right on the corner of Carlton St.
right across the street from Glendale High were I went to school.
The reason I said I was acquainted with Bistagne Bros is because
in 1969 I had an accident in my mother's 1964 Ford station wagon
and the body shop I had the wagon towed to was you guessed
    it Bistagne Bros..
I lived a half mile from Bistagne Bros. After school I would walk
up to the body shop and talk to the guys and watch the progress
being made on the wagon. So I guess it should be me thanking
you because I have not thought of the apartments or the wagon
    in decades.
So thank you Marshall for my trip down memory lane.
    My Regards
    Gene N.

    Third brothers name is Tom

Oh, I forgot the third brothers name is Tom. You had me thinking
about what I just wrote you so I typed in the two addresses and
I lived exactly a half mile from their shop and I see they expanded
because right on the corner of Chevy Chase Dr. and Verdugo Rd,
which would be the North East corner was a Chevron gas station.
Well good for them they were the best
    body shop in Glendale.
    Thank Again
    Gene

Last time I was there was around 1998 or so, give or take. I don't think they had acquired the gas station yet.

This is another street scene from Glendale, Ca.
The long vertical spire on the right is the Alex Theater and this street
is Brand Blvd. It's the main hub of Glendale.
Alas most of those stores are no longer with us.
By the look of the cars I would say maybe late 50's, I didn't
    notice any 60's cars.

We lived in Burbank for a couple years in the early 60's so that street looks very familiar to me. In fact I have posted a pic before of the very garage with our '58 wagon inside in one of the suburbs of Burbank.

Glendale was where my grandparents lived and Grandma used to take me and my brother shopping down Brand Blvd.

Last time I was there I didn't recognize a thing.

    Angels Flight

The original Angels Flight location, was next to the 3Rd Street Tunnel
with tracks connecting Hill St. and Olive Street, It was operated from
1901 until it was closed in 1969 for redevelopment.
The second Angels Flight location opened just to
the south in 1996, with tracks connecting Hill Street
    and California Plaza.
The cost of riding one way is 50 cents.
The only fatality that involved the original Angels Flight
occurred in the autumn of 1943, when a sailor attempting
to walk up the track was crushed beneath one of the cars.
It was re-closed in 2001, after another fatal accident,
this time it took nine years to start operations again.

    It's a Gas

For post # 2901, maybe it meant something like pressurized gas like propane.

    This makes me sick.

If they only knew what the price of these cars would be worth in
the future. Still it's a shame to see vehicles like this, it just makes me sick.
