They could have traded a '38 Bantam Boulevard Delivery for a new Crosley...

Vince Dixon Ford is located in Carlsbad, CA (north San Diego County, near the coast) This is obviously an old photo. They build a new store in the 80's (?) when the town developed an auto mall (Carlsbad Car Country). Later, the name was changed to Ken Grody Ford, who also has a Ford store in Buena Park, CA, which is where we bought our Explorer.

I wonder if maybe selling used cars was the primary business and selling new Crosley's was second?

Okay I'll admit it needs a little work. But don't you dig the patina?

It's funny really. I didn't used to like patina. Until I watched a movie with an old 1941 Chevrolet COE in it that is the epitome of patina.

Incidentally this is a photo of my uncle standing next to the truck in question.

There is just something special about a patina rig. A great, looming hulk of metal and machinery. Makes my mouth water for sure.

Paint that old Chevy truck red like the Crosley firetruck and it would look so much nicer.
(I don't check those posted email addresses because my crappy service uses units up like an old carburator sucking gas. ):slap:
