Wagons in vintage Street scenes

The two pictures above look like something major went on there. Is that a large tank laying in the road that could have damaged the front of but bulding? Everyone seems to be looking over towards that area.

 

My guess is a flood. The hardware's windows are out and debris tossed out front. The market next door is already boarded up, and the awning is down at the pharmacy next to that. In the right foreground of the first picture, there is a tree or bush uprooted and debris on the corner and in the street. Theres a railing in front of the parked Buick that could imply a waterway of some sort, and the street looks like it could be covered with mostly dry mud.

 

Yes, it was a flood. There wasn't any detailed info with the pics. Just said "After the Flood"

 

I am continuously amazed at how those reading this thread find the tiniest details. I completely missed the tank on the side of the street :banghead3:.

I've now had to start going through old posts to see what else I've missde.

What I must say is that it is a pleasureable experience to start at the top and work ones way back through the pictures. A great way to spend some time.
