Sign says Moorabbin, so Australia. They still speak the King's there and Y is for "tyre" down there.

 

An assortment of Australian Holdens, and Falcons would indicate that the photo is Australia, New Zealand or South Africa.

 

It was definitely filmed in Australia. I'd have to go back and look up exactly where.
South Africa produced slightly different models to those built in Australia, besides having a BMW plant there, similar to how Canadian cars differentiate from those produced in the U.S.A., except that South Africa was somewhat more legislatively liberal with horsepower ceilings
