Wagons in vintage Street scenes

I would be interested to know where this photo was taken. It seems familiar to me. Has a very Pacific Northwest flavor to it.

 

I have particular knack for picking out certain locations from photos, just by looking at the details in them.....

I first noticed the 'Grayson Av' street sign, which looks exactly like the street signs used by the city of Los Angeles, which I'm very familiar with. Also, the people are certainly in a mild climate, at least at the time the pics were taken. Turns out I was right, and in fact this is the 'T' intersection of 28th Ave. and Grayson Ave, in Venice, CA (Venice being part of the city of L.A., not its own separate city...) I grew up only a couple of miles from here......

Here's a current pic from Google Earth, with the Nissan Murano parked in front of the property where the pic was taken from....


Look at the size of the tree that's off the right front corner of the Murano, and compare it to the size of the tree in the original pic.....

Of course, the pic was probably taken some time in the mid to late 80's, so I was actually living in Orange County by then.....

I was going to mention the same thing! Pretty neat that it is still there.

 

My source says it's way up in the Pacific Northwest. Namely, Ketchikan, Alaska
