Wagons in vintage Street scenes

Had a Nimrod Tent camper like the on pulled by the Mercury, mine I pulled with a 1964 Chevy II wagon. It went to the Pocanos, West Virginia and all points in between. No hard top all tent but slept 6 easy. Seemed like a bad name for a camper though...

I saw this image at the top of this page........


....and something about it was vaguely familiar - the name 'Hammerbacher's Char-Broiled Steaks'.
I racked by brain, and couldn't recall anything specific. The building as well, looked like something I may have seen somewhere in my travels.
I Googled the name, and got a link to the Flickr account where the pic was posted, maybe it was an old postcard, who knows? The page there also gave the location - Coleville, CA - which DID ring a bell for me. Coleville, CA is a little spot on US 395, a few miles south of where the highway crosses into Nevada at Topaz Lake. I've gone through there dozens of times. When I was going by there, from the early 90's until we moved to Oregon, it was 'Hammerbacher's Market. It MAY have been open in my early days of travelling the road, but I don't remember ever stopping. You can still read the sign.....

 

This is sooo cool, to find a location you've been to or through, and then see it in a photo years (or even decades) later, and recall you've been there. God bless the World Wide Web.
