Could you outrun his bullet? I suppose, once he guns you down, he'd have to tie you to the roof, like a deer, in order to haul you off to the Pokey, since you wouldn't fit inside the vehicle. Question is what to do with the blue gumball machine?

You can outrun a policeman, but you can't outrun a Motorola!

I suspect the RHD Volks is for parking duties. Easy to reach out with a chalk wand, mark a tire or two. Likely also emptied parking meters (Meter Maid?)

That's quite a high rank, for a meter maid to get decorated with the tin star. Maybe, that maid had plenty to do with tapping persons on the shoulder who dared emptying those meters without a key?

I've been in Champaign, Ill and every road there is standard USA. Even my early VW's had left side steering
I've also been in the front and back of a lot of police cars. But I never rode anyplace. They were friends or ex-co workers. I've never done anything illegal.

    Or got caught!:rofl2:

Thanks fo rthe photos fellas ad descriptions.

My pop used to say the same thing! Then he would always add, even James brown couldn't outrun the radio!:rofl2:
This was going to be my next question. Were they all like that during the earlier years of import?

Metropolitan police cars had the steering wheel on the wrong side too.

    Police market[edit]
Right-hand drive models were marketed by AMC to U.S. police departments for use in parking enforcement and other urban duties.[32] Comparing the car to police motorcycles, an AMC brochure advertised superior all-weather protection, cost-effectiveness and storage space, and also the safety of single-unit construction.
