Wagons in vintage Street scenes

These two look up to no good.

 

I notice in many older photos people sit on cars. I can't remember anyone doing that today. Maybe the cars now don't have enough flat spots or heavy metal to sit on.
I do agree, grandma appears a bit sneaky.

 

That's because modern cars have such thin sheet metal, and can cost as much as I paid for my house!
I wouldn't want you to sit on my car if it cost that much either!
As for my classics, get yer butt off my fenders, you'll scratch the paint!

 

Scio, Oregon - small town north of me, up near Salem. Been through it once or twice. I remember they had a small tornado tear through the town a couple of years ago, damaged a few homes and businesses.


Town's still there, and so are at least a couple of the buildings on the East side of Main St.....

 

They got rid of the parking on the left side... no wonder I can never find a place to park downtown! lol

 

Two cars we had when I was knee high to Dad--although ours was black, the '59 Chevy sedan (God help me, those are the coolest taillights I've ever seen), and the '66 Galaxie sedan, robin's egg blue.

 

Archie was also a tightwad with Edith's allowance. That's why she also had to go out and polish fenders for chump change.
