Ah, Burger Chef. I miss it so! McDonald's used to advertise that they had "triple-thick shakes;" baloney. Burger Chef's shakes were so damned thick, you could not suck the shake through a milkshake straw. So what we kids did was dip our hot fries in the shake while waiting for it to 'warm up' a bit.

Never saw a Burger Chef and I hate thick fake shakes. Steak-N-Shake is the place to go. In site it must be right.

Far as I know, these were not fake. And the thickness would be about the same as a properly-made Wendy's Frosty, which is fake all day long.

The very first fast food drive in besides A & W in our town was a Sandys. They tore down a farm house and orchard across from the Shell station mom and dad went to just to put up a Sandys.

Now the Sandys is an Arbys. The gas station next to the RR tracks, the tracks, the Dodge dealership, and two blocks of homes has been replaced by the growing hospital. ER and an emergency parking lot is now where our favorite Shell station was. This happens everywhere. If people would quit getting old and hurt we wouldn't need so many hospitals.

Didn't the later LTD II/Marquis wagons have the rear wiper AND a separate lift glass? If so, that would make a cool upgrade to a Fairmont.
