I want one of those Hi-Lo trailers! looks better than a regular pop-up trailer, probably weighs a ton and leaks like a sieve though!

Any info on this pic, Yeller?
I'm guessing that it's opening day at Disneyland, July 17, 1955. Looks like a 'Live Remote' TV or radio crew front and center. Cadillac limo parked nearby. I don't see any vehicles newer than '55. And that sure does look like what the Disneyland parking lot looked like when it opened.

Years ago we had one of the cheap basic regular pop up tent campers. It was like living in a tent but off the ground.
Then those Hi-Low type came out. A neighbor had a large one of those. I believe even it had beds that slid out each end with the canvas top and sides on those parts.
One like pictured wouldn't be very roomy with the beds down.
A friend in Florida bought a pop up with plastic side and bed roof panels. A pain to set up and down.
We rarely see fold down, or pop up, RV's anymore. Even rarer are tents. Modern RV's have to be 50' long with half dozen slide outs, satellite, and Wi-Fi. The bon-fire has been replaced by a microwave oven. It's nice seeing photos of old campers.
I still like the early Shastas with wings like my dad and his friend sold new. They'd cost well under $1000 but I couldn't afford one.

Most of the camping I've done is primitive... what I can carry on my back in an old army A.L.I.C.E pack... amazing what you can see when you get off the old beaten path and head into the woods, nothing but the supplies on your back, and your wits.
