I saw a BBC-powered Suzuki Tracker once. I'm sure it had both the cute and scoot factors you look for.

Many Brit cars used to be baby-faced. One of their sportcars looked like a frog, in fact.
Older German cars sometimes looked mean and somewhat predatory, like some contemporary civil servants and landlords indeed are, here. The Porsch 928 looked like a shark.
Brit society is sort of peaceful and fun, despite tattered medicine and often bodgy work. German society is always tense, as if one's in a permanent war situation. I suppose a car's face somewhat reflects certain qualities of the country of where it originated.

Yeah! I'm diggin' that split............................um..........................rear.............................glass and that thick juicey bumper. Maybe, not so endowed like the Dagmars on those pink Caddies. But, good enough for me. I dig that nice crack on the sidewalk just to the right of her painted toenail, also.
What owner could hate such a smiling greeting. I'll bet most of them don't get such a friendly expression from their spouses, when it's wake-up time.

After I ruined the little 4-banger engine twice I replaced it with a 327 Chevy and 2-4's. The 2-4's seemed to flood out on fast turns so I went to 3-2's and progessive linkage. Sadly I had to use a Powerglide because with wider center tunnel no room for 3-peddles.
At that time I also had to cut a hole in the hood for the front two of the three little chrome air cleaners to stick thru.
I never did really use and abuse it then but it was quick and turned on a dime.:character0182:
It really was a happy frog then!:chirp:

Mine was maroon with the rare fibreglass hardtop sort of like the early Corvette. It still used the vinyl and clear plastic side curtains that snapped on.

If you would have kept it long enough for the THD to get invented, you could have sent the Slip 'n Slide into retirement. As I read between the lines of many of your posts, I take the liberty of suspecting you of being a 3-peddlephile, Sir.

That is correct. I used to always buy vehicles with three peddles and enjoy shifting. As I aged and the market shifted to charging more for a stick shift than an automatic I also shifted to shiftless vehicles.
:chirp: Modern automatics no longer slip and can be bought with a simple overdrive which competes with a stick shift for fuel economy.
Plus the advantage of old knees and hips being replaced by fingers to do the work.

Too stay on topic this was my very first car, also semi shiftless, a 1949 Dodge Coronet coupe with fluid drive. Again mine was maroon with wide white side walls and the older occupants would have been cute teen girls and cool boys.

I thought it was amazing those coupe like cars like mine and my friend's 1948 Chevy still had a full front and rear bench seat.

What?! They packed the older occupants into that rear seat, so that that young lady in between those smiling guys doesn't get cold knees. While the driver's hand is busy warming her knee, she gets to do the shifting. Ain't that how it went, Sir?
